Description

Biology students have illustrated a set of insect specimens, but their professor suspects they have mixed up wing patterns between different subspecies. You must compare the drawings against high-resolution specimen photos to identify “entomological errors”—such as the number of black spots on a ladybug, the position of eyespots on butterfly wings, or the number of segments in a beetle’s antennae.

Gameplay & Skill Packs: “Spot the Difference: Biological Morphology,” requiring accurate recognition of symmetry and counting. The toolkit includes “Symmetry Guides” for mirroring and comparing left and right wing patterns, as well as “Counting Points” for marking spots on the screen to facilitate accurate counting.

Level Breakdown: Levels 1–2,500 feature “Coleoptera (Beetles),” with errors found in the arrangement of punctures on the elytra (wing cases); levels 2,500–4,000 feature “Lepidoptera (Butterflies and Moths),” with errors in scale colors and wing pattern shapes; levels 4,000–5,200 feature “Hymenoptera (Bees and Ants),” with errors in wing venation and the number of antennal segments.
